Supporting Refugees CSR Programmes

This year, the #Morethanfootball Action Weeks have created a special campaign agenda. The 3rd of April is dedicated to CSR programmes that focus on supporting refugees.

The #Morethanfootball agenda invites organisations to link their Action Weeks activities to the official #Morethanfootball agenda.

On 3rd of April organisations are encouraged to highlight programmes that support refugees.

The exodus of millions of people fleeing war and poverty remains one of the biggest challenges facing us as a society, and although the drama of the refugees has left the front page of today’s news, it is still far from being solved. Many foundations have made a firm commitment to this group in recent times, and they have launched initiatives and programmes for refugees in the hands of organisations such as UNHCR, Open Arms and the Red Cross.

A wide range of football organisations has developed specific programmes that support refugees:

  1. Improve the perception of citizenship towards refugees
  2. Promote a decent life for the refugee population
  3. Improve the emotional well-being of children and youth refugees
  4. Promote sport as a tool for social transformation

On 3rd of April, all organisations are invited to dedicate their #Morethanfootball Action Weeks activities to the topic of Supporting Refugees CSR Programmes.
