#MorethanFootball Action Weeks 22.03. – 18.04.2021
Football has always been much more than just a game. Unfortunately, people rarely see the stories of the excellent daily work being done through football organisations’ community and social development initiatives.
We believe that all European clubs, leagues and FAs go above and beyond organising a game with 22 players on the pitch. Therefore, in order to showcase and further broaden the reach of Community and Social Responsibility in the European Football, the #Morethanfootball Action Weeks were established in 2017.
The #Morethanfootball Action Weeks are a global campaign for the European Football community to showcase the impact of their community and social responsibility activities. During the #Morethanfootball Action Weeks, the participating organisations celebrate the work they do on and off the pitch on local, national and international level.
Following the success of the campaign in the first four years, and after being carried out despite of COVID-19, the 2021 #Morethanfootball campaign, running from the 22nd of March to the 18th of April, will bring together the biggest team of football clubs, players, leagues, FAs and fans. Join us!

How to participate

- Get your application form for the More than Football Award
- Share your branded #Morethanfootball visuals
- Name your #Morethanfootball ambassadors
- Participate in Action Days and online challenges during the Action Weeks
- Promote your community initiatives online
- Organise smaller events or social activities
- Get on the shortlist for the More than Football Award
THE BIGGEST CAMPAIGN ON CSR IN FOOTBALL
107 participants from 30 European countries, including Juventus, SL Benfica, Shakhtar Donetsk, Lega Serie A, Borussia Dortmund, PAOK FC, Legia Warsaw, Pro League, GNK Dinamo Zagreb, Feyenoord, Malmö FF and Barça Foundation officially took part in the campaign. A total of 4,041 posts were shared on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. The message reached 41 million people on social media, 8 million more than the 2019 campaign. Club Brugge Foundation won the More than Football Award and a Mini-Pitch system that will be developed in partnership with Musco Lighting and EFDN.

MORE THAN FOOTBALL AWARD
2019 saw the first #Morethanfootball Award ceremony at the 13th EFDN “CSR in European Football” Conference in Barcelona in November. Shakhtar Social Foundation won the first More than Football Award.
The goal of the More than Football Award is to honour the best social initiatives in Europe delivered by a European Club, League or FA by celebrating the work they do on and off-pitch on a local, national and international levels. We will hand out the Award for the best project promoted during the #Morethanfootball Action Weeks (22.03. – 18.04.2021), which will be assessed not only on the quality of the project but also on the level of promotion and engagement.
To be eligible for the Award, organisations should register as a participant and describe the details of their events and activities in an application form. The application form should be sent back by email to email@example.com.
