Are you #Morethanfootball?

We are looking back at a fantastic first #Morethanfootball Action Weeks. In 2017, we were happy to see 84 football clubs, foundations, trusts, leagues and FA’s from 28 countries participating.

During the week-long campaign, organisations were hosting events aiming at demonstrating the social impact of community projects across the Football industry.

In Belgium the first Handifoot Festival ever was organised. Disabled children, teenagers and adults could enjoy playing football accompanied by professional coaches. In Hungary, the establishment of a Fair Play Committee was celebrated and in Greece Syrian refugees were welcomed at the stadium. Next to that, workshops on fair-play were organised, days against Homophobia and Transphobia took place and Walking Football tournaments were played.

The #Morethanfootball Movement

All over Europe, the #Morethanfootball movement showed its impact, demonstrating in a beautiful way how football changes lives.

This year, the #Morethanfootball Action Weeks will be hosted from 21th of March until 8th of April 2018, celebrating on 6th of April the International Day of Sport and Peace. Again, the initiative will provides professional football clubs, their community trusts, leagues, FA’s and football organisation the opportunity to host events that demonstrate the social impact of their community projects and thereby raise awareness for the transformative role European club football can play in changing people’s lives for the better.
