İstanbul Başakşehir Futbol Kulübü raised awareness about water consumption
During their match day on April 5, Turkish club İstanbul Başakşehir raised awareness of an important issue.
During the match against Öznur Kablo Yeni Malatyaspor in the 31st week of the Super League Ahmet Çalık Season, the club wanted to highlight that every year, 8 million tons of plastic mix in the sea and oceans.
Fans were able to make a promise on social media tagging the club to promise the following things with the hashtag #SÖZVER (I promise):
- I will use water more efficiently, sustainably and consciously.
- I will draw attention to the importance of clean and sustainable water for the continuation of living life.
- I understand and explain the role of seas and oceans in adapting to and mitigating climate change.
- I will protect water in harmony with the Sustainable Development Goals set to be achieved by the end of 2030 under the leadership of the United Nations and our country’s water policies.
That way the club wants to keep highlighting the importance of responsible consumption around water.
