#Morethanfootball Participants Share Their Educational Programmes for Action Day 1

Today, Friday September 18, is the dedicated #Morethanfootball Action Weeks Education Day. EFDN has encouraged its members and organisations that have registered for the campaign to showcase the projects they have, are or are planning to implement on their media platforms.

And the clubs have not let us down! All day, clubs have been sharing the initiatives they have carried out to emphasise the importance of education.

Over the last two years our Education Department has grown by almost 200%. This September we welcomed 225 students onto our Education programmes.

In collaboration with the UEFA Foundation for Children, FC Barça Foundation has developed a new employability methodology based on games and sports, aimed at working on the social skills of young migrants without family references.

Last year we engaged with over 4000 young people through our Educational programmes.

In the last five years, the FCB Players’ Association organized 90 courses with over 900 participants. As former Barcelona player Pep Samitier said, “A footballer’s life is short, but what comes after that is much longer.”

Educating in respect, inclusion and against discrimination for the new generations, to make them more aware and responsible for their behaviour and language adopted.
