SQA Status! Rangers Charity Foundation

Rangers Charity Foundation strongly believe that football is much more than just a game – it can be life changing for so many people.

Ranger Charity Foundation is celebrating their successes this week as part of More Than Football Action Week, highlighting the transformative power of football to change lives!

A recent milestone for the Foundation was gaining our SQA Approved Centre status in August 2017, which allows us to deliver a number of qualifications as part of our work in education and employability.

Employability is a key priority of the Foundation’s work in the community, as Govan is an area of high unemployment.  51% of all adults in Govan are unemployed or workless – double the Glasgow average. Rangers Charity Foundation are developing programmes that can help local people gain the skills, experience and confidence they need to break the cycle of unemployment.

Thanks to their new SQA status, we can now deliver accredited courses such as Award in Employability, Steps to Work and Skills for Work and they recently developed our first Employability Fund programme in partnership with Skills Development Scotland.

Rangers Charity Foundation have also been able to enhance existing courses such as Ready4Employment (in partnership with Department for Work and Pensions) and Get Started with Football (in partnership with the Prince’s Trust).  By adding more accredited content to these courses, they are giving participants an even better start on the road to a brighter future in the world of work.

Rangers Charity Foundation strongly believe that football is much more than just a game – it can be life changing for so many people.  More Than Football Action Week is a unique European-wide movement that celebrates what football can achieve off the pitch and the positive impact they can have on our communities.
