Successful 3rd edition of the Club Brugge Foundation stadium run

Last Saturday, 26 March, the 3rd edition of the Club Brugge Foundation Stadium Run took place in, around and through the Jan Breydel Stadium. Spread over the entire day, 688 enthusiastic runners and walkers came in various start waves to enjoy a unique run through some exceptional areas of the Jan Breydel Stadium.

Club Brugge Foundation took advantage of the football-free weekend to open the doors of the Jan Breydel Stadium wide to the fans. After a coronary break of 3 years, the 3rd edition of the Stadium Run was again a success.

The 1891m Run & Walk took walkers and runners along various exceptional areas of the Jan Breydel stadium that are not otherwise accessible to the public. They visited the players’ tunnel, the press room, the Club Museum, the security tower, the players’ home and the changing rooms. Finally, the holy turf of the Jan Breydel Stadium was visited!

The runners who took up the challenge of the Isagenix 5km Fun Run were treated to a more extensive tour of the Olympia site, including a visit to the offices of the administrative centre De Klokke, around the training pitches, the fitness and offices of Club NXT and the luxurious Open Business Seats on the third floor of the lodge building.

During this 3rd edition of the Stadium Run, extra effort was put into entertainment along the route. From the stirring sounds of the bagpipes and drums, DJ beats in the players’ tunnel, life-size photo boards of the Club players in the changing room to taking a photo with the real Champions’ Cup on entering the hallowed turf of the Jan Breydel Stadium!

Towards the end of the track there was a real blue ‘Color Street’.

All proceeds of this Stadium Run will go to a good cause: the sports projects of Club Brugge Foundation, which each year enable more than 200 people from underprivileged groups to play sports in an adapted way at Club Brugge.

Thanks to the total proceeds of EUR 32,484, the Foundation is able to reach even more target groups within their No Heart No Glory message!
