Successful #Morethanfootball Action Weeks

The 2022 #Morethanfootball Action Weeks started on the 21st of March and ran until the 14th of April. The #Morethanfootball Action Weeks are an EFDN initiative and the biggest campaign on community and social responsibility in European football.

Participants

Our many amazing participants used the kick-off and the Action Days to highlight their social initiatives. We supported them, shared their initiatives, programmes and photos and made sure the whole world sees that we are #Morethanfootball.

Below, you can see all the clubs, leagues and FA’s that participated this year:

Interview

Christian Burgess, the English defender of Belgian surprise act Royale Union Saint Gilloise, has a wide interest in all kinds of CSR-related topics. He is as passionate about training a disability team, climate change, or veganism as he is excited to see Belgian kids biking to school. At his former club Portsmouth FC, he loved to help their foundation Pompey in the Community. He delivered food parcels and medication during the pandemic but posted also a video in which he emphasised the importance of washing your hands thoroughly. You could also see him giving training to youngsters. For our #Morethanfootball campaign we spoke with him about his volunteer work at the refugee camps in Calais and he shared his thoughts about combining a vegan lifestyle while being a professional football player.

Ambassadors

Once again this year, many #Morethanfootball Ambassadors helped us raise awareness of the social power of football. They all believe in values like respect, diversity and fair play and support their club’s social projects. Click on the link above to read all of the inspiring quotes!
