Bijzondere Eredivisie

There are more than 100,000 disabled children in the Netherlands. It is very important for them to exercise. Sport strengthens your health, self-reliance and self-confidence, especially when you are not doing so well with your health. And since disabled children are more likely to live in loneliness; sport gives kids the opportunity to make friends.

We think it is important that all kids should be able to have the same dreams and playing for your favorite football club is one those dreams. In 2019 we started the Bijzondere Eredivisie so disabled kids get an opportunity to play in the very first disabled football competition in the world with professional football clubs! In this football competition professional football clubs play with their own disabled team in the Bijzondere Eredivisie. During our first season we had 10 football clubs competing (Ajax, ADO Den Haag, De Graafschap, Excelsior, FC Emmen, FC Groningen, FC Utrecht, Heracles Almelo, SC Heerenveen and VVV Venlo). This season we also start with 10 football clubs: Heracles Almelo has left the Bijzondere Eredivisie for one season but Go Ahead Eagles has joined us!
