Istanbul Başakşehir promotes afforestation project

Istanbul Başakşehir continues its afforestation efforts within the scope of the “We make it Green” project, which the club launched at the beginning of this season. Between 15-25 March, they are planting 5000 more seeds as a results of the contributions of their fans.

The Turkish club continues to emphasise the importance of afforestation in combating the climate crisis with their green alternative jerseys that the players wear in the 2020-21 season and also continues to turn every green jersey purchased from Başakşehir Store into a tree in nature.

In partnership with Ecording, which also coincides with the Forest Week and will be carried out on a 5-hectare area in Mersin’s Silifke region between 15-25 March, 5000 more seed balls will be planted, consisting of Taurus cedar and Red Pine seeds, on behalf of our club, our supporters and football fans. The total number of seeds the club has planted in nature since the beginning of the season will have reached 7,500. The seed ball shooting will take place in accordance with social distance conditions and with a minimum of people. After the operation, videos and images of the plantation will be automatically sent by the system to everyone who scans the QR code on their form and registers to the system.
