Rosenborg Ballklub

Rosenborg Ballklub is the biggest football club in Norway. We have supporters not only in our home town of Trondheim, but also throughout the country. We want to make an impact in the community for the best of all. Rosenborg is a club for everyone regardless of sex, religion, color or sexual orientation.

The main community projects of Rosenborg are:

RBK – Youth@work

The program is for young people aged 18-25 years, who is unemployed and/or early school leavers. Youth@work offers training programs and work placement, both within the football clubs own facilities and with their businesspartners . The main aim is to get a regular job. The program is a cooperation between Rosenborg, the public employment agency (NAV) and two local vocational training centers (Prima and Stavne). The program consists of education, vocational training and individual tutoring. A group of 12 young people will start together in the program, which lasts for 6 months.

Rosenborg House

Rosenborg and Red Cross has just finished a ten year project in Nairobi, Kenya. The project, “Rosenborg House” is a house where the local branch of the Kenyan Red Cross are able to take care of vulnerable people from the slum areas. Rosenborg are still funding some of the activities at the house. Football is one of the activities used to assemble young people where the volunteers bring information about HIV/Aids and how they avoid getting the sickness. This year (2015) we are supporting Streetlight, a voluntary organization, which runs a center with orphanages, a school and a medical service for children both on and off the center of the city Tacloban in the Philippines.

Furthermore the club has its own disability team and it has a long tradition in supporting the local community trough different projects. Rosenborg is involved with several organizations to develop positive third party social-programs and activities:

  • MOT – MOT is a life skills concept which aims to improve the social environment and basic quality of life of young people, by teaching them vital life and social skills in diverse environments. MOT works both for and together with the youth. The main objective of MOT is to promote the development of strong young individuals within a safe and natural environment.
  • The Directorate of Norwegian Correctional Service
  • The children’s department in our local hospital.
  • The Church City Mission
